The Birmingham Business Journal (BBJ) recently recognized McWane, Inc. for general excellence at its 2024 Manufacturing Awards event. Amerex was honored for excellence in exporting.
Alabama has a strong manufacturing industry with more than 275,000 people employed at more than 4,000 businesses throughout the state. The state serves as a key automotive manufacturing hub, a leader in aerospace and a top U.S. producer of steel and advanced materials.
“Alabama’s manufacturing sector has witnessed remarkable growth across numerous industries, benefiting communities and families statewide,” Ellen McNair, secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce, said in a release. “Manufacturers statewide are dedicated to excellence and innovative advancements that propel Alabama toward a more prosperous future.”
Together, McWane and Amerex were among 16 companies statewide lauded for exceptional performance in manufacturing and in supporting the communities where they operate.
